WELCOME TO THE BEYOND BEN BULBEN LINKS PAGE
These pages are direct to Sligo the "Land of Hearts Desire"  - The Yeats Country
Sligo the Land of Heart's Desire or the Yeats Country is well served with photographs and other information in the following links. You can spend many interesting hours here and meet the locals, hear their stories and connect with the Sligo diaspora throughout the world!
The name Sligo is derived from the gaelic  "Place of shells or Shelly river" or maybe it is" the place of the two fords"

AE(George Russell) contemporary of WB Yeats once told Jack B Yeats that where a town on the sea has a body of water behind it that connects with the sea, that is a truly magical place. Lough Gill to the east of Sligo  is connected to the Atlantic by the Garavogue or Sligo river. AE also said, ". . . that around Ben Bulben there is great activity by the little people!"
